3 Signs for a New Bathroom
The bathroom is often the most used and most essential feature in a home. People are always floating in and out of their bathrooms to shower, shave, and so on. Because the bathroom is subjected to such overuse, it is easy for years of wear and tear to finally to do a number on the room. If you are worried about the state of your bathroom, there are three ways to find out if it’s ready to be renovated.
Taking away the tiles
After years of exposure to water, tiles in your bathroom may begin to lose their grip. Depending on its age or quality, the adhesive may weaken, allowing the tiles to slip off the walls or floors. Mold buildups may also trigger the same problem. Through force, it is also possible that your tiles have cracked or shattered.
If your tiles are raining from your walls or crumbling at your feet, it is time for a new bathroom. Proper tiling and adhesion are integral parts of a bathroom’s aesthetic, as well as its ability to prevent water leakage. Loose or old tiling may also be a hazard. If this is the case, you should start looking into bathroom renovation.
Extensive water damage
Over time, the water’s constant presence can wear your bathroom down. Mold can accumulate not only on your tiling, but also in your showers. Mildew can also begin to grow throughout your bathroom. After a while, water can also cause rust on faucets, handles, shower doors and more.
If you find high amounts of these kinds of damages, your bathroom needs renovating. It is both unhealthy and unsightly to be exposed to bacteria and rusting. You’ll need more than a cleaner bathroom – at that point, you’ll need a new one.
Older, less efficient fixtures
You walk into your shower, ready to feel clean after a long day. However, your water pressure is low and your shower takes too long. You finish and walk to your sink, only to realize that, as always, the faucet is dripping. With a sigh, you sit on the toilet but still, you can’t catch a break – you have to flush twice to get empty the bowl.
As with most things, constant use of bathroom plumbing and fixtures can cause their efficiency to fade. The excuse for this could be plumbing, but it could also be because they’re worn out or they’re too old. If either of those are your issue, then there’s an even bigger issue at hand – it’s time to renovate that bathroom.
The bathroom is a crucial part of your daily routine, and it is important to realize when it’s time to upgrade. Loose tiling, water damage and old fixtures are all indicators that you may be ready for a new bathroom. Bathroom renovation may be a big project, but when it’s so important to the running of your home, a bathroom renovation may just be exactly what you need.
